Frequently Asked Questions

What is InBody analysis used for?

InBody analysis measures key metrics like muscle mass, body fat percentage, and water distribution. It’s used to gain insights into your health, track progress, and guide personalized wellness or fitness plans.

How accurate is the InBody analysis?

InBody technology is highly accurate, using advanced bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) to provide detailed and reliable results.
Test in the morning (if possible) – The best time for an InBody scan is in the morning, before eating or drinking anything. If testing later in the day, try to stay consistent with the timing for future scans.
Fast for at least 3-4 Hours. Eating or drinking too close to the test can affect readings, as food and fluids can temporarily change body weight and water distribution.
Stay hydrated but avoid overhydration. Dehydration can make body fat percentages appear higher, while excessive water intake can skew results. Drink water normally the day before.
Avoid alcohol & caffeine for 24 Hours. Both can alter hydration levels and affect readings.
Limit intense exercise for 12 hours prior. Strenuous activity can cause temporary shifts in body water and increase muscle glycogen stores, affecting results.
Use the restroom before testing. A full bladder or excess waste in the digestive tract can affect body weight and composition results.
Avoid wearing metal or jewelry. Metal objects can interfere with the electrical current used in bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA).
During the test:
Stand still, relaxed, and maintain proper posture. Movements, leaning, or improper hand/foot placement can affect the test’s accuracy.
Remove shoes & socks. Direct contact with electrodes on hands and feet is essential.
Ensure skin is clean & dry. Sweat, lotions, or oils on hands and feet can interfere with the electrical conductivity.
Stay consistent with testing conditions. If possible, always test under the same conditions (time of day, hydration status, fasting state) for better comparability over time.

How long does the analysis take?

The entire process takes less than five minutes, making it quick and convenient.

Do I need to prepare for my InBody analysis?

For the most accurate results, avoid eating, drinking, excessive caffeine, or exercising within 2-3 hours before the analysis. Patients will be asked to use the restroom prior to standing on the InBody for the most accurate results. One of our team members will guide you through the process, and help review the results of your InBody.

Who can benefit from InBody analysis?

Anyone can benefit from InBody analysis, whether you’re starting a fitness journey, participating in our medical weight loss program, or simply seeking a better understanding of your health. It’s particularly useful for those wanting to track body composition changes over time.

Aftercare

After your analysis, review your results with our team to understand your body composition and discuss next steps. Use the information to guide your fitness, nutrition, or wellness plans. Schedule regular analyses to monitor progress and adjust your goals as needed.

Reminders

To ensure accurate results, avoid consuming food, caffeine, or alcohol for at least two hours before your appointment. Try to schedule your analysis at the same time of day for consistency in tracking. Wear light, comfortable clothing and remove any heavy accessories and jewelry, as they can affect the readings.
